**SCHOLARLY WORK**

In the last five years Dr. Willam has directed several research projects on failure mechanics, localization analysis, damage mechanics of cohesive/frictional materials and their ultrasonic detection, thermal degradation of heterogeneous concrete materials, cohesive interface models, hygro-thermal transport in concrete composites, failure mechanics of reinforced concrete and masonry in_ll walls. He has authored and co-authored more than 160 papers in refereed journals and conference proceedings, and presented over 140 invited lectures and papers at professional meetings.
