Addressing National Academy of Engineering challenges, faculty in the Environmental Engineering program in the Department are developing novel water treatment technologies, understanding nanoparticles and nanomaterials and their interactions with organics in the environment, investigating innovative microbial biotechnologies, characterizing air, water, sediment, and soil quality, and designing remediation technologies for surface and subsurface systems.
