Colby received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Houston in 2002. He is a registered Professional Engineer in Texas and Florida, a certified Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) and certified Road Safety Professional Level 1 (RSP1). He is a partner at Quiddity Engineering where he started the traffic engineering business unit 13 years ago.

He has more than 23 years of traffic and transportation engineering experience including signal design, intelligent transportation signal (ITS) design, illumination, roadway design, Traffic Impact Analysis (TIA) and capacity operation studies. The traffic studies projects have focused on improving traffic operations and mitigation strategies for clients and have included extensive use of traffic modeling software.

He serves as the treasurer for the Quiddity Engineering Foundation whose mission is to Build Stability, Develop Opportunity and Serve the Community. He has also been an active member of the Houston chapter of the Texas Institute of Transportation Engineers (TexITE) for over 20 years.

Colby lives in Pearland, TX and has been married to his wife Sonia for 21 years and they are proud parents to son Alex (19), daughter Julia (16), dog Milo (6) and cat Lucy (4). The Wright family loves to travel and looks forward to exploring a new destination every year!
