Dale Rudick was hired by Mayor Parker in September 2011 as the ReBuild Houston Executive and serves as Deputy Director of Public Works and Engineering. Rudick interfaces with the public, the city’s elected leaders, the administration and the divisions of the Public Works and Engineering Department for ReBuild Houston. ReBuild Houston is a voter approved pay-as-you-go initiative that is a long-term solution in addressing the street and drainage infrastructure needs of the City.
Mr. Rudick has an extensive background in municipal government where he worked for the City of Sugar Land for more than 18 years while the population nearly tripled. He served in several capacities such as City Engineer and Director of Intergovernmental Relations. Rudick developed the Intergovernmental Relations Program where he worked directly with local, state and federal elected officials to help secure additional funding, gain representation on a local Water Authority and for the first time in Texas’ history, close a state prison.
Prior to Rudick’s public sector service, he was in the private sector where he owned his own business prior to enrolling at the University of Houston for a degree in Civil Engineering. Prior to and after graduation, he worked for a road and bridge contractor in Houston. He is a Life member of the Houston Alumni Association and is a past president of the UH Engineering Alumni Association. Rudick also has a degree in Business Administration from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. He resides in Houston and is a licensed professional engineer in the State of Texas.
