Research Interests: 

Dr. Dawood’s research interests are in analysis, design, construction, and performance of fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) and steel structures and structural systems. Specific research interests include:

  • Rehabilitation and renewal of steel infrastructure with FRP materials
  • Behavior of FRP sandwich panels and other types of all-FRP structural systems
  • Structural health monitoring and implementation of fiber optic sensors in infrastructure
  • Evaluation of new, innovative and advanced materials and structural systems
