Criteria
Must be Texas resident
Must be enrolled full-time (minimum 12 credit hours) as a Junior or Senior with declared major in civil engineering
Must be active member of the UH ASCE student chapter
About the Donor

Ronald L. Mullinax, PE, is past President and Chairman of the Board for Brown & Gay Engineers, Inc., a statewide consulting engineering and surveying firm.

A native Houstonian, Mr. Mullinax grew up in Houston and attended the University of Houston, where he earned a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering in 1970.  His 40+-year career in engineering, together with  his professional and community participation, characterize a career of service.

As a recognized expert in the area of flood control and drainage in Houston and the surrounding counties, he had significant impacts on drainage and flood control criteria for the region. He was a past President of ACEC-Houston (previously known as ACME) and more recently, served on d1e Board of Directors of ACEC-Texas.

Brown & Gay Engineers, Inc. is a privately owned engineering and surveying firm that was established in 1975. Mr. Mullinax was instrumental in the growd1 of the firm from a Houston firm to a statewide firm with offices in Houston, Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, Frisco, Katy, San Antonio, and The Woodlands.

Brown & Gay Engineers is ranked in the Top 500 Design firms in me country by Engineering News-Record and as one of the Top 5 Civil and Structural Engineering Firms by the Houston Business Journal.
