The University of Houston Cullen College of Engineering celebrated the graduation of more than 600 engineers on Thursday, May 9 at the Fertitta Center.

The proud graduates earned: 427 bachelor’s degrees, 141 master’s degrees and 45 doctorate degrees.

The keynote address was delivered by Chang Oh Turkmani, managing director at the Mega Company and a member of the Engineering Leadership Board (ELB).

The UH Cullen College of Engineering hosted its 30th annual Offshore Industry Crawfish Boil on Sunday, May 5 at Lynn Eusan Park.

Thousands of alumni, faculty, students and industry leaders gathered to network and mingle as they enjoyed crawfish, bbq, beer, drinks and live music.

Since its inception, the annual spring event has raised over $1 million to benefit engineering scholarship and academic programs.

The UH Cullen College of Engineering celebrated excellence in the ranks at its recent faculty and staff meeting. Joseph W. Tedesco, Elizabeth D. Rockwell Dean of the College, handed out numerous awards recognizing faculty, staff and students for their outstanding contributions in teaching, research and service.

The 30th Annual UH Engineering Golf Tournament, sponsored by Flowco Production Solutions, teed off at BlackHorse Golf Club on Monday, April 22nd in Cypress, TX.

Jerry Rogers recognized for a lifetime of volunteerism

 

Jerry Rogers, who retired as professor emeritus from the UH department of civil and environmental engineering in 2013, received a Service to the Institute Award from the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) on May 20 at the ASCE Environmental and Water Resources Congress in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

The award is given in recognition of extensive and outstanding service to the Institute.
